Happy Nurse’s Week!
This week marks National Nurse’s Week, and we’re excited to celebrate the contributions of nurses across the world and give special recognition to our nurses at AbleLight! The video below features some of our wonderful nurses and sheds light on their important role for people with developmental disabilities. Tune in below to learn more!
Providing quality care
Our nurses provide a vital role within the care team at AbleLight. They provide comprehensive care that covers the physical, medical, and even emotional needs of the people we support.
Nurses at AbleLight can build long-term relationships with the individuals they support, which allows them to have a better understanding of their health concerns. This is one of the major differences between traditional nursing roles and community nursing. At AbleLight, our nurses are more familiar with the people they support, which allows them to be more proactive with their care plans to promote optimal health.
Quality care is an extremely important part of the AbleLight mission, and our nurses play an important role in achieving this for the people we serve. Our nurses collaborate with other healthcare professionals, direct support professionals, and family members to ensure the best quality care.
“Everybody on the team works for the same purpose in supporting our individuals and making sure that their needs and wishes are met.” – Sarah, AbleLight Registered Nurse
Our nurses help bring the AbleLight mission to life, and we are grateful for the care they provide and their resilience in addressing diverse and complex needs.
“Coming in and seeing them with their big smiles on their faces, it just tugs at your heart. After 35 years of nursing, I’ve finally found my spot.” – Cathy, AbleLight Registered Nurse
Thank you to our nurses!

“We are so grateful that you are here and on our team! All of us at AbleLight are better because we have you in our homes and at the table to help us make sure we are providing the best care possible and providing the best outcomes for the people we support.” – Reagan, AbleLight Area VP of Clinical Services and Quality
