Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 11, 2021
At AbleLight we respect your privacy and want you to feel comfortable using our website as a method of communication with us. The purpose of this privacy policy is to explain how we use the information collected on our site.
AbleLight reserves the right to change this policy at any time. AbleLight’s privacy policy will be kept up-to-date and clearly posted on our Web site. Please review our policy frequently to ensure that you have the most current information.
Information We Collect on Our Website
On many pages of the AbleLight external website — in particular when donating online, completing an action alert or completing various feedback or inquiry forms — visitors are asked to list name, address, and other personal contact information. Information collected is specifically and knowingly provided by site visitors and may include name, email address, mailing address, telephone number and details related to their inquiry. Collecting this information helps AbleLight to better provide site visitors with relevant and useful content.
AbleLight will not sell, share or exchange personal contact information collected from this Web site with other organizations. If a user has a previous relationship with AbleLight through another channel (i.e., mail, phone), AbleLight will occasionally rent or exchange those names and addresses with other organizations as a way of providing extra funds to help support services. If you do not want to participate in this program, please contact us via email at DevelopmentDepartment@ablelight.org.
Visitors to AbleLight’s website are not required to share any personally identifiable information. Users who do not wish to share personal information when visiting the site can still access AbleLight’s web pages and the valuable information provided.
AbleLight has partnered with Blackbaud, Inc. for donation transaction processing capabilities to serve our constituents and fulfill our mission on the Internet. Blackbaud is an Internet software and services company that provides online electronic Constituent Relationship Management (eCRM) solutions for nonprofit organizations and higher education institutions. Blackbaud will not disclose your name or other personally identifiable information (such as your e-mail address or phone number) to any party other than AbleLight.
AbleLight has vendors that occasionally assist with processing and managing donations and donor data. When necessary to accomplish a specific business purpose, we give these vendors access to relevant donor data. Such vendors are bound to keep any accessed or shared data strictly confidential. They are prohibited from selling, sharing or trading any donor data with anyone.
Opting Out
Your email address may be used by AbleLight to provide relevant content to you about AbleLight’s mission. You can unsubscribe from any AbleLight emails at any time by clicking the User Email Preferences link at the bottom of every AbleLight email.
To discontinue the receipt of postal mail, please contact AbleLight at DevelopmentDepartment@ablelight.org. Please note: there can be an 8-12 week lapse period due to the fact that a subsequent mailing may already be in production. If you do receive another mailing, please accept our apologies and know we have processed your request.
Security of Your Information
We use industry standard safeguards to protect your information. When you make a donation from our site using a credit card, your credit card number is accepted and processed by VeriSign and through Blackbaud Merchant Services. All transactions between customers occur over connections that use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software, which encrypts the information submitted. We do not reveal credit card numbers when confirming orders on our site or through e-mail. These measures make it extremely difficult for anyone to intercept the credit card information you send to us. When we work with other companies to process credit card transactions, those companies also use encryption and other security measures.
