Friendship can shape how we experience community and belonging.
David and Sebastian have been friends for nearly 15 years. After first meeting at Kiwanis Camp, their connection quickly grew into a lasting friendship built on shared experiences, humor, and everyday moments together. Today, they live together in an AbleLight home, where their friendship continues to grow through the routines and laughter of daily life.
Their story reflects this year’s Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month theme: Power in Possibilities. When people have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships and share community, connections like David and Sebastian’s can flourish.
