Earlier this month, AbleLight shared the announcement that Cassidy Eckert had been named a 2026 ANCOR Direct Support Professional of the Year honoree, representing the state of Oregon. This week, that national recognition was formally celebrated on the national stage at ANCOR Connect ’26 in Boston. Watch the video below:
AbleLight is proud to share that Cassidy was honored during ANCOR’s annual awards presentation, held as part of its national conference bringing together community-based service providers from across the country.
Each year, ANCOR Connect convenes leaders and professionals in the field to share ideas, strengthen partnerships, and recognize excellence in direct support. During this year’s ceremony, 57 honorees from across the country were recognized for demonstrating compassion, consistency, leadership, and a deep commitment to person-centered support for people with developmental disabilities.
Cassidy’s recognition reflects both her individual impact and the broader importance of Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) nationwide. Across communities, DSPs play a vital role in helping people with developmental disabilities build lives of belonging, independence, and opportunity.
AbleLight was honored to be represented at ANCOR Connect ’26 and to celebrate this moment alongside peers from across the disability services field. We are grateful for Cassidy and for the many DSPs across AbleLight whose dedication and care make this work possible every day.
