An individual supported by AbleLight and her lead direct support professional in Bloomington, Minnesota, recently enjoyed an evening boat cruise and dinner on Lake Minnetonka. The outing offered a chance to spend time together in a new and scenic setting, taking in the lake views while sharing relaxed experience on the water.
During the cruise, the individual had the opportunity to explore a new environment and take part in an activity outside of her usual routine. Outings like this can support participation in community settings and create space for meaningful experiences that build confidence over time.
“Moments like these highlight the impact our team members have every day,” Scott Wurzbacher, AbleLight Regional Vice President. “They show how relationships, respect, and community engagement come together in everyday ways. It’s not just about where you go—it’s about how we show up alongside Heidi and all individuals with developmental disabilities.”
