Colorado Team Participates in Community Events Focused on Inclusion and Connection

AbleLight team members and individuals we support recently participated in two Colorado events that created opportunities for learning, advocacy, and community engagement.

At the Special Olympics Colorado State Conference, two AbleLight athletes took part in a live demonstration during a session focused on adaptations and modifications. Their participation helped showcase ways to make recreation and sports more accessible and inclusive for individuals of all abilities.

AbleLight also participated in the Step Up for Down Syndrome Walk, joining individuals, families, supporters, and organizations from across the community. Team members hosted an information booth, shared resources about AbleLight services, and connected with families interested in learning more about available supports. The event provided an opportunity to build new relationships and celebrate a community that supports people with Down syndrome and other developmental disabilities.

Events like these help raise awareness, strengthen community connections, and create opportunities for individuals and families to learn more about resources, share experiences, and engage with others working to build more inclusive communities.
