Finding the right job can make a meaningful difference. For Luke, joining AbleLight Thrift Shop as a sales associate brought an opportunity he had been working toward for months and a place where he feels excited about his future.
After months of applications and interviews, Luke joined the AbleLight Thrift Shop team in July. Today, he is building his skills, growing in his role, and looking ahead to his career at AbleLight Thrift Shop.
“I want to be here for as long as possible,” he shared.
During National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), Luke’s story reminds us why inclusive employment matters. At AbleLight Thrift Shop, we’re proud to create opportunities for people with developmental disabilities to pursue meaningful work, grow professionally, and build careers. Across our stores, that commitment has helped create an inclusive workforce where approximately 50% of non-management roles are held by people with developmental disabilities.
