WAUSAU, Wisconsin – AbleLight, a national leader in pioneering life-changing services that empower people with developmental disabilities to flourish in life and in their communities, is excited to announce the relocation of its Wausau Thrift Store to a new and improved location at 1300 Campus Drive. The new location will open its doors with a grand opening celebration on Saturday, September 14. This relocation marks a significant step in our mission to empower people with developmental disabilities while offering the Wausau community an exceptional shopping experience.
The new location will continue to provide the same great deals customers have grown to love, all while supporting a community where people with developmental disabilities are valued and empowered. At AbleLight Thrift Stores, shopping isn’t just about finding bargains, it’s about making a meaningful impact. Every purchase directly supports services that help people with developmental disabilities to live independently, pursue a career, get out in the community and manage their financial needs.
Our Wausau store is proud to be part of a larger network of 12 AbleLight Thrift Stores across six states. Maintaining our commitment to inclusivity, at least 25% of non-management roles are reserved for people with developmental disabilities interested in growing their skills and learning about a career in retail. Currently, over 30% of these positions are filled by individuals who keep our stores running smoothly. This new location will continue to offer tailored coaching and mentoring, to ensure every employee can pursue their dreams and succeed.
