AbleLight Employment Program Creates Opportunities in Fresno

Helping people with developmental disabilities find meaningful, lasting work

AbleLight’s Employment Supports program is making an impact in Fresno by helping people with developmental disabilities find competitive, long-term jobs that match their interests and goals.

What began as a pilot partnership with the regional center quickly grew. Originally aiming to support one individual per month, the program saw an overwhelming need and scaled to support 20 people within the first few months. Today, 30 individuals are enrolled, and 10 have already found permanent jobs in fields they are passionate about.

This program is not focused on internships or short-term placements. Instead, it connects people to real jobs with real pay, where they can grow, contribute, and build a future. Each person receives personalized support in preparing for, finding, and maintaining employment that fits their strengths and aspirations.

Participants in the program are not asking for special treatment—only a chance. With the right opportunity, they show up with dedication, reliability, and pride in their work.

We invite local business and community leaders to be part of this success. By opening the door to inclusive hiring, you help create a stronger, more vibrant workforce in Fresno.

Together, we can help more individuals reach their full potential, one job at a time.
