AbleLight Board Hosts Community Outing to Grant’s Farm

AbleLight leaders and Board of Directors recently gathered at Grant’s Farm in St. Louis, hosting a community outing for the people we support and team members in the area. The visit brought together individuals supported by AbleLight, Behavior Support Services team members, Board members, and members of AbleLight’s Market Advisory Council. It was a wonderful day of time spent together in a fun and familiar local setting.

Grant’s Farm provided an opportunity to spend time outdoors and connect with one another. The day created space for shared enjoyment across roles, allowing leaders and advisors to spend time with the people AbleLight supports and the teams who care for them each day, reinforcing the importance of listening, learning, and presence in the community.

“Today was amazing. We had so much fun,” Board member Cynthia Bentzen-Mercer shared. “It’s so important to be out in the community, and people need to feel like they’re living a full life, not that they’re confined to home.”

The outing also highlighted AbleLight’s new Market Advisory Council (MAC), the organization’s first council of its kind, created to strengthen connection with the local St. Louis community. The council is led by Cynthia Bentzen-Mercer on behalf of the Board of Directors; the MAC brings together local advisors who help outreach, awareness, and growth. AbleLight looks forward to the impact this group will have in deepening community connections and expanding opportunities for the people we support.
