AbleLight has been awarded a $52,000 grant from Ability Central to support communication and technology needs for people with developmental disabilities in California.
“This funding represents more than new technology. It represents connection, confidence, and opportunity,” said John Carreon, AbleLight Chief Advancement Officer. “When people have the tools to communicate clearly and engage more fully in daily life, it opens doors to greater independence and belonging. We are grateful to Ability Central for their partnership and shared commitment to expanding access for people with developmental disabilities.”
This grant will help enhance access to essential tools that support communication, connection, and independence. Through this investment, AbleLight will expand the use of technology that helps people more easily express their needs, engage with their communities, and participate more fully in daily life.
Access to the right communication and assistive technology can reduce isolation and remove barriers that limit opportunity. This grant supports AbleLight’s commitment to providing whole-person support and ensuring individuals are equipped with the tools that promote security, dignity, and belonging.
