On a sunny day in Washington, a small group of people supported and team members from an AbleLight home attended a Seattle Mariners game together. With clear skies and bright sunshine, it was an ideal day to enjoy the energy of the ballpark and soak in a familiar local experience.
The outing was especially meaningful because attending a Mariners game had been of interest to one of the people supported since the day we met him. Being able to take part in something that truly mattered made the day more than a typical outing and created a shared experience filled with excitement and connection.
Moments like this highlight the importance of listening to what matters to the people we support and creating opportunities to be part of the communities they call home. Spending time at local events, sharing experiences, and enjoying everyday moments together helps build connection, choice, and a sense of belonging.
